Milan Kunc: Harmony for One

20.5. — 25. 6. 2025

What’s provocative right off the bat is that this figural painter is being presented as a landscape artist — of imaginary landscapes, no less. Each one is a little different, but they all share a kind of ironic anachronism. The harmony here is more like “harmony”, taking many forms: a vase from the 1950s, snowy cottages straight out of a Josef Lada painting, ringed by weekenders’ cars, or a casually tossed wine bottle. Beneath it all is a playful probing of personal aesthetic weaknesses and the fine line between art and kitsch — opening up a whole slew of other questions.

The exhibition is curated by Radek Wohlmuth.
