In addition to revealing the rhythm of trees, bushes, grasses and vegetation, Petra Malinová Marečková’s recent works also focus on capturing light. In addition to rough masses of clay, which is a building element/medium and a reference to Earth, plant life speaks in all its fragility and delicacy. Captured light ripples across the relief structure of the image, penetrating the fabric of the natural elements depicted. The works also show an awareness of light as something permeating all living things. Here, one can observe fleeting moments in latent images. Important is not only the surface, the potential of materiality, but also the artist’s coexistence with nature in the undulating landscape of the upper Polabí region.
